markets markets markets...

If someone asks me what I like to visit on Saturday mornings my answer is easy: the local artisan market.

Why is that? Because it is an experience, especially in Italy. You walk across the lines, you chat with the farmers, you listen  to their jokes, advices, and recipes :)

If you are a regular customer, they know your name, they make you try new products, or just simply make your social life more colorful. :)

If you go there early, you get a nice selection, if you get there late a very competitive price :)

I just simply love it...

...I remember when I was a little girl they even had a section for live animals...so my hart broke when Grandpa brought me a special surprise from the market... some pigeons FOR LUNCH!

Well I prefer the ones that I did not see alive before. Luckily in downtown Milan there is no live animal market  :) otherwise my flat would be full with pigeons of course NOT for lunch :)
